A custom 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara, upgraded with Mopar parts, will be given away to a lucky winner in a special fundraising sweepstakes to benefit the March of Dimes.
The Wrangler was donated by a Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership in suburban Chicago, and proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit an Illinois chapter of the charity. Some of the parts added for the custom upgrade include front and rear off-road bumpers, rock rails, steel body corner guards, interior accents using the March of Dimes’ signature color purple, and much more.
Back in February, the Mopar customized Jeep Wrangler was featured at the Chicago Auto Show, right after the sweepstakes opened to the public. The sweepstakes will officially close at 11:59:59 PM PT on May 1, 2014, so there is still over a week to get an entry in for the sweepstakes. Only 100 vehicles were available for purchase, making the Mopar 2014 Dodge Challenger the rarest limited-production Challenger ever offered by Dodge. The lucky buyers who managed to snatch up one of the Challengers will be receiving a 2014 Dodge Challenger that has already been given a full Mopar upgrade, including a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine as well as a choice of two exterior color options and three Mopar Blue stripe options. A little more than half of the Mopar Challengers ordered came with the Pitch Black paint while the rest chose Bright White.
Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, spoke about the limited-edition Challenger and the winning combination of Mopar and popular Dodge vehicles, stating, “The very high demand for the Mopar ’14 Challenger spotlights the success of our limited-edition Mopar-modified vehicles, and also clearly demonstrates the passion our customers have for personalizing their rides. Whether during or after the ordering process, Mopar is there to help put a personal touch on customers’ rides.”
Buyers who missed their chance at the Mopar 2014 Challenger can still purchase a 2014 Dodge Challenger and upgrade it with Mopar parts and accessories, but those Challengers will not come directly from the factory with the upgrades already in place.
Dodge was in Irvine, California last weekend for the LX Spring Fest 9, showing off the LX, LC, and LD platforms.
In a video for Dodge’s YouTube channel, Steve Magnante gave a tour of the Dodge models and explained the distinction of LX. Rear-wheel drive vehicles from the 2005 model year were called the LX cars. The Dodge Charger also has rear-wheel drive, but it is different enough to earn its own distinction as part of the LD series. The Dodge Challenger R/T is a two-door vehicle and is four-inches shorter than the other four-door counterparts, so it is distinguished as an LC series.
All of these vehicles come with the HEMI engine and rear-wheel drive, tying them all together under the Dodge brand and as varieties on a platform.
The parts arm of Chrysler, Mopar, offers thousands of different wants to modify and improve your vehicle. The accessory market is a big one totaling and incredible $70 billion dollars worldwide. That’s a lot of customization going on! What is it that people are buying? Chrysler has put together a list of the top purchased parts as well as which vehicles are the most accessorized.
Starting with the vehicles, the first one to top the list seems like the most obvious choice. The heavy-duty Ram 1500. I’ve known enough truck lovers to know that the basics are never good enough. The number one part makes even more sense because of this. The perfect add-on for a truck, side steps and running boards.
Second vehicle is the Jeep Wrangler. Once again, the list for the top vehicles and top accessory match up perfectly. Right underneath side steps in the top ten is Jeep Wrangler Tops.
The most interesting one is the number 9. An electronic vehicle tracking system is for when your vehicle is stolen in aiding the cops find it.

With 2013 we’re one step closer to the future. I feel the appropriate joke to make at the moment is to ask where my flying car is. One thing that is undergoing a major change in the coming year will be how your car gets serviced. Chrysler is leading the way in bringing a new way of having your car looked at.
Detroit News lays out just how much a difference you going to be seeing when you pull your car in to the service department. You’ll now be greeted by someone with an iPad in hand. They’ll plug the device into your vehicle and be able to see all the important information for it. Everything from how much air pressure is in your tires to seeing any recalls in effect for any parts currently on your car.
Chrysler is wanting to keep ahead of the competition by having the tech edge. “We hope it will increase the customer experience and increase the loyalty of our customers,” says Pietro Gorlier, president of Mopar. “We believe it is a real competitive advantage for our dealers.”
The new system will operate with a cloud system that the iPad connects to. Once the technician has the vehicle all hooked up, all the information linked to the car on the cloud will be at his instant access. It will lead to a much better customer experience and a more thorough diagnosis for any problems.
Chrysler is still getting everything to work the way they want it to. They want this technology in all their dealerships before the end of 2013. The march of progress is always fascinating, and in this case, is a welcome improvement for the consumer.
Just before Christmas, Mopar announced that it will be expanding its Remanufactured Transfer Case product line.
According to a press release from Mopar, this expansion will include 35 new part numbers that cover trucks and SUVs from 1988 to 2012. Kathy Wideman who serves as senior manager of Mopar Repair / Reman Portfolio, commented on the expansion saying, “Throughout 2012, Mopar has added significantly to our line of Mopar Remanufactured products, and we are please to continue to strengthen our Mopar Reman portfolio with new additions to our transfer case product line.” She went on to praise the precision and durability of the product line as well as Mopar’s history of affordable prices.
There was already a good enough reason to love the new 2013 Ram 1500 but Mopar just gave 300 more.
The good folks over at Mopar are working their butts off to make sure that the new SRT Viper they’ve taken under their wing will be the most exciting sports car on the road. They still have time to make sure they bring their special touch to the hottest new Ram truck. When they’re finished, you’re going to be able to find over 300 new accessories. It’s a wide range for them too, from $12 for hitch plugs to $3,000 for a suspension lift kit.
Not all are meant to add a different level of function to the truck; many are also to provide a custom look. Chrome grille inserts, sport-performance hood, body-side moldings, plenty of ways to make sure that there is no other 2013 Ram 1500 out there that looks like your own.
The end of the month brings some good treats to car-lovers. The SEMA show begins in Las Vegas on October 30th. Running through November 2nd, the show will be the place where Mopar plans to give a show of more than 20 specialized models. Everything from Jeep to Dodge and even Fiat will be getting that extra Mopar touch to look and performance.
Nitrobahn has more details on the unveilings that are being planed by the parts company. No official pictures as of yet, so far the only information given so far are teaser renders of five cars. The cars that will be displayed on full come the SEMA show are the Fiat 500, the Dodge Dart, the 2013 Ram 1500, and the Dodge Charger.
Also planned for the show is a golden Jeep Wrangler that was designed by Devan Ninov. This Mopar designed Jeep will have wide fenders, a Warn winch, and a push-bar in front.
The Dodge Dart looks to be the most exciting of the bunch. The body teased to be a white exterior along with what possibly looks like a functional hood scoop, a carbon fiber front splitter, and a tow hook. There’s a hint that this may just be the SRT version of the Dart due to a red chin spoiler under the bumper.
Keep your eyes peeled towards the end of the month to see more details when the SEMA show finally begins.
